Read Proverbs 31, starting at verse 10, and particularly verse 16: "She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard." So, Biblically, a wife has control of money, owns real estate, and operates businesses. Reading the passage, the real question is what doesn't a woman do? Oh yeah, she can't be pastor of a church - something very few people want to be anyway.
You would not agree with the bolded line if the situation was reversed. "Men have to stay silent in the church. They can hold no authority."
There are a lot of women who want to be pastors and deacons, and I know many who are absolutely excellent pastors.
