I don't think anyone can fault them for the latter. There's no reason why they should've told the world about private family matters involving their then teen/pre teen son. As for the former, I still don't think that comes close to a reason to demonize them, to say they are not good people and to say they "mean harm to others."
I'm sure hindsight being 20/20, when they realized that their son did it again, they wished they had reported it the first time. And we can all say that now as outsiders looking in. And I agree that reporting it to the police right away would have been the objectively moral thing to do. But try putting yourself in the parents' shoes for a sec. If you caught your 12 year old son touching your daughters' boobs while she was asleep, would you really immediately call the cops on your son? Or would you try to handle/fix/prevent the situation as a family first? We all know what the right answer is, but when you are the parent and you are faced with such a difficult and shocking situation involving your children, I can see how emotions and weaknesses can get in the way of making the more right decision.
And I don't think this had anything to do with their religion, since nothing in Christianity teaches people to not report sexual assault to the cops. I think it simply had everything to do with being parents.
Anyway, my point is, I don't think this bad judgement on the part of Mr and Mrs D takes away what I said about the Duggars. Which is that they are good people and don't mean any harm to anyone. Unless anyone honestly believes that Mr and Mrs D actually meant for their daughters to be harmed, which I doubt anyone does.
Except it wasn't just his sisters. He had five victims and two of them were his sisters... which btw they said it happened in 2002 which makes Jessa and Jill 10 and 11 years old. The parents simply locked them in their separate rooms.
