It was poor judgement on their part the first time it happened. While I disagree with their decision to try to fix the problem on their own, I can understand why parents wouldn't want to immediately call the cops on their 12 year old son. When it happened the second time, they called the cops. I'm sure they regret not having done it the first time around.
