How hard it is in this day and age to go to hook-up website/app and find a date. Come on do it, let that be your task. What can go wrong? I know you fear you'll embarrass yourself but if you're not unemployed, not living with your parents and not being too fat there's nothing to be embarrassed. I think you stated before how you think you don't know how to talk to girls, but on the first date that's actually an advantage, because girls like to be the ones that talk. In fact you can see how bad your date is going by how much you talk opposed to her. If you start talking too much the girl will automatically start to think "What's wrong with him?" She'll roll her eyes metaphorically.
So you go there on 1st date and treat it like an interview. Just ask her many, many questions and when she asks you question or two be brief, if you go long she'll think you're in love with yourself. Listen to what she has to say and pretend that you're interested and you'll be fine. Because that's what women do to each other, they listen to one another and by doing that they give each-other signals that they care for each others' feelings.
