I think as hard as it is, the sooner you accept that there's nothing you can say to change someone's mind when deep-seated beliefs/ideologies are in play, the better off you'll be. It may feel unfair and frustrating (to say the least) but you're up against private logic, most of which you won't even see because it's protected. And it works both ways... they probably feel the same way about you. There's nothing a Jew could have said to a Nazi to change his mind, no matter how good the argument, unless he was already on the fence in the first place. So the only thing to do is find a way to co-exist in whatever capacity and deal with it as much as you can internally. IMO if you fight it... keep on trying to change them... all you're in for is a world of (unproductive) pain because people rarely change as a result of 'interventions' by others, much less if those others are perceived as the enemy, and again much less when deep-seated and perhaps even subconscious beliefs are in play; people only change if or when they are in themselves, ready to change. So as much as the situation may feel unfair on either side, in the grand scheme of things it is fair because it's just human nature in conflict... the way our minds work... and the fuzzy nature of our 'logic' means that there will always be clashes like this. Physically escape the environment if you can, or are so inclined, but I still think it's better to just try and accept that fact and find a way to deal with it in your own mind without having to resort to running away... because that'll make you stronger in the long run. Just my two cents.
