That's horrible! I have to wonder though, why authorities took the 6 and 7 year old children away because

The two surviving kids were removed from the home after the 8 y/o's death.
Shit like this happens all the time. Right now, there's a couple in Oregon on trial for the death of their kid... they let her die from a treatable tumor over her eye that eventually grew into her brain and killed her. Many members of Followers of Christ church have been prosecuted for allowing their kids to die of every day medical problems that could be treated by a simple trip to any emergency room... I say people like this should have EVERY child removed from their care, both those they have now and those they may create later. It's one thing to place your health in faith healing, but no one has any business doing the same to a child who can't make an informed choice.
Come to think of it... it's too bad we can't outlaw religious inculcation before age eighteen.
