That's rather obvious. But it doesn't change the fact that one doesn't have to have sympathies for the ones voting something like that into office.
I can only repeat what I said earlier. Always be advised to take any politician who presented himself as an authoritarian at his word. There's absolutely no reason why he shouldn't do or at least attempt what he promised to do. Checks and balances are pretty low at the moment. Many things Trump announced are more or less in line with Republicans. Climate change policies for starters, but also the intended rollback on many pieces of social legislations and minority rights. Abortion may be on the table also, given what he said, given what many republicans want.
