You know, the secret lies in manipulating these sentiments and fear. If done the right way it's the ticket to win elections.

I was rather surprised when reading a poll on populous sentiments recently. It pretty much mirrored the fear mongering that's going on right now in my country. The first concern was security, then border security, with job security coming in fourth or fifth.

That's not in any shape or form the real situation we find ourselves in. Criminality is on the same levels as it always was, but dropping below the poverty line and unemployment or underemployment are at an all time high. That's what the statistics say.

But the fear mongering machine of the extreme right constantly prays the mantra of being overrun by group X or Y if we don't take immediate action and try to remove them from society.
