The middle class whites didn't break for him, actually, lol.  The upper and lower end of whites did (but much more than that, the rurals).  On the idea that they could swallow all of his other shit so long as he could get them mo' money.  To hear them tell it, at least.  

I know better, though, because they're my people...and I've -always- known them and every little suppressed hobgoblin of their minds has been clear to me since childhood, lol.  It wasn't just the money that will never materialize.....

.....all that other shit stroked something the left had told them was dirty.....and it felt soooooo good, especially since somebody else was saying it, and they didn't have to deflect the criticism personally.  That's what all this "PC" shit is about.

The poor whites went for Trump, completely true, but income alone, without race and gender included, poor folks voted Clinton
