Obstruct and the Democrats in office look feckless and weak to the layman. Government doesn't work, Washington is at a standstill, people are angry and have no trust in the 'status quo.
Progressives respond, predictably, with apathy and telling each other it's all the same, both sides are equally shitty.
Conservatives respond by voting and demanding change.
Now, the GOP wet dream. Government will run.like a well oiled machine by contrast. They will ejaculate bills all over the place---"Religious Freedom Protection" this and "American Energy Liberty" that---all patriotic sounding fuck you's to progressives.
They will look great, and people will vote for more of it. I think they'll actually shy away from the LGBT issues, there's too much national agreement on that. The only hope progressives have is for someone who inspires the lazy, complacent, "your vote doesn't count" element of our group to get off their asses.
There's clearly more of us. Democrats just don't vote.
The other hope is that unfettered power will drive more sectarian squabbling into the GOP and they gridlock themselves.
I don't expect that right off the bat, though.
It was a great con, but while I blame dems for falling for it, it still does not change the EVIL it is. It is Jerry Springer and Payday Loan, reverse mortgage, homeopathy utopia con combined with McCarthyism and Jim Crow, and the GOP voters fell for it, but we fell for it too, it is just that they won by falling for it in the right areas.
It was a con on their voters as much as it was a bait to our voters.
The founders if they saw what was going on today, would hate the modern GOP say outside a couple. But they would also say to liberals, "hey morons, we put that electoral college there for both to employ". Like I said earlier, just like in an NFL game, putting up great passing numbers and running numbers doesn't insure a win. Nor should it. In a secular western society neither the majority or minority should want a direct mob rule vote.
Liberals CAN BEAT the bigoted assholes but we can only do that by not only putting up great passing and running numbers, we have to beat them by thinking long term and expand our map and stop assuming we only need cities burbs and soccer moms and minorities.
