This also according to numerous studies. But these follow a different dynamic than the individual being a psycho. It's the group, the loyalty to the brothers in arms and violence becoming the new normal. Several authors and scientists examined this phenomenon. Starting with incidents in WWII on all sides and ending with Mi Lai and incidents in Iraq.
