Yes, they should. Many parents still don't understand that being a parent doesn't make the kid their property and they can not treat them as such. Even when minors, they're still human beings who have right to choose for themselves (even if the choice is wrong but that's how we all learn). If the parents say "no", they doom their kid to a lack of happiness for life. Because the parents will die out some day and that kid, which will already be a grown man, will be left alone and miserable with themselves which could eventually lead to suicide.
