I was in the Air Force myself back in the early 90's, but I wasn't part of an air crew.
He just graduated pilot training 2 years ago and was selected to be an instructor for his first assignment. He teaches the new student pilots how to fly the T-6. Next year he'll go on to do his first "real" assignment and he's hoping to get the F-15. So we'll see.
