Not necessarily, considering the fact that humans are the only species capable of higher level reasoning and other species' have managed just fine without grasping the theory of relativity. If we all turn into ugly bastards that'd be a whole another story because you can't really force yourself to be attracted to someone, you just are or you're not. Population would decline just like that.
