I suspected that you would try this. You claim to "summarize" the link but you stopped reading the moment you felt you'd found a smoking gun. Of course, the piece you quoted doesn't show that there is "evidence for nothing"-- only someone nose-deep in dogma would think that. It explains that the subconscious is very similar to the conscious mind. If you'd continued to read, you might have found more relevant passages:
Quote:when placed in the broader context of the natural sciences, especially evolutionary biology, the widespread discoveries of sophisticated unconscious behavior guidance systems not only make sense, they turn out to have been predicted on a priori grounds
Quote:Under the present argument that the unconscious evolved as a behavioral guidance system and as a source of adaptive and appropriate actional impulses, these unconsciously activated preferences should be found to be directly connected to behavioral mechanisms. Several studies have now established this connection:
Quote:By this definition of the unconscious, which is the original and historic one, contemporary social cognition research on priming and automaticity effects have shown the existence of sophisticated, flexible, and adaptive unconscious behavior guidance systems.
That's right, Rik. The subconscious mind is a measurable and testable system that evolved and is being better understood all the time. And there's no evidence that it exists outside of the brain that is required in order for it to function. I noticed that the only part of my response you ignored was when I asked for your evidence. What a surprise. Maybe you missed it while you were searching for font colors and emoticons to use in place of logic.
Quote:This is the reality Ton.No, it's not. You demand evidence over and over but you produce none of your own. Your crazy arguments are not evidence. Do better.
Quote:You can easy prove that to yourself. That's not proof, that's a cop-out. Your explanation is bullshit. Prove what you said or accept that you are wrong. It's that simple.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
