Someone who considers proposition 1 true is a theist.
What do you call someone who considers proposition 2 true?
How about:
Proposition 1 has not met its burden of proof. So, I do not know if it is untrue, but I have no reasons to believe that it is true.
Just because I have not been convinced of proposition 1, does not mean that my default position becomes the counter positive.
Seems you are setting up a scenario where both horns of a dilemma are being addressed simultaneously.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
