This is the first time a famous person's death has genuinely saddened me. :/
Robin Williams for me. I still have a hard time watching his films. Kind of fighting the urge to cry a bit right now too, which is off-putting. Loved her in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.
That was me. I had never cried over a celebrity death nor did I understand why people cared that much... until Mr. Williams died and I... well I've only seen 3 of his movies since his death and I cried the whole time. It happened again with Alan Rickman.
But as for Carrie... I just feel like she was the first female that I thought was as cool as the guys in the movies. They were already out and old by the time I watched them for the first time when I was 7 but I remember I watched them the night my mom came home from deployment (she is an American soldier and was overseas) and I compared my mom to Leia and that did it for me. I was forever a fan. I really don't know how any other actress could have portrayed her any better. Carrie WAS Leia.
