Which is why clarifications such as "slaves obey your masters" were put in. The bible had always been a document for sociopolitical control of the masses by a ruling élite. A trend that continues to this day.
Oh, I don't give a crap about that kind of thing. I care that today, people want to point the finger at everybody and go, 'Sinner!' as if that's the only kind of immoral behavior imaginable, neglecting every other consideration in or out of the bah-ble.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
