Could you please explain?
Well from what I can gather the illustration combined with the question is basically asking which is better, to share things out so everyone is equal or to have it so everyone has an equal share of something even though they aren't genetically equal which results in one person being left out.
Obviously the right answer is objectively that equity is better, if that's how you define equity vs equality. The illustration is basically making that statement, it's not even really a question, it's pretty much rhetorical. Obviously looking at that picture equity is better.
But in reality a situation relating to that sort of question has way more nuances than just some kids looking over a fence. Some people are hard done by, some people are . disabled, some people are lazy, some people are criminals, some people are blessed or cursed based on their parents good or bad decisions. (Not meaning blessed or cursed literally.)
So in my opinion the question being asked is decent enough, but the picture doesn't just innocently explain the difference between equality and equity, it gives the answer which is better but in my opinion it's a simplistic outlook at the answer.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
