These trigger warnings can sometimes be too much, but they don't mean that anyone was actually triggered by them. This is that same pool logic of finding an extreme example of something and defining an entire generation by it.
Trigger warnings can be useful. Say, "This discussion/lecture will include discussions of rape/sexual assault." Might help a rape victim prepare for or avoid the discussion. That is what they are for.
I mean when you hear something you don't like you get up and move....right? You don't freeze up, fall on the ground and start foaming up in the mouth that's ridiculous..besides, no discussion or lecture is going to be randomly talking about rape for 40 minutes, they'll include the topic of the discussion in the title.there's no need for extra "Trigger warnings" just the thing sounds wimpy and frankly kind of pathetic that grown men and women need these kinds of "warnings" of "Triggers" what's the worst that could happen? You throw a fit and realize how ridiculous you are when everyone laughs at you? Great. Sign me up.
