Not that they always are, but they can be. I'll use Black Lives matter as an example.
I completely empathize with them and understand the emotional reactions to the videos we have been seeing. The right wing response to BLM shows a decided lack of empathy, however looking into the numbers shows that cops do not actually kill blacks disproportionate to their level of crime as compared to whites and Latinos. There are close to 1 million cops in the USA so you can imagine how many millions of encounters take place each year. Given these numbers, terrible incidents are guaranteed to occur. Crooked cops, racist cops, errors in judgement and so on are inevitable and need to be fought on an ongoing basis but...
The problem is that an emotional reaction to a handful of terrible events has led to the vilification of the police en masse, which has led to MORE black lives being lost rather than fewer. It's a good intention gone bad.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
