We would love nothing more than to not have to deal with Trump, but again, his 5 year campaign of demagoguery is not something you simply let go. There is a huge difference between protecting offensive speech, and political demagoguery. His toxic to the future, and if you care about the rights of minorities such as blacks and LGBT and even atheists, it is a bad idea to sell the idea that his tactic is valid. To ignore that is to tell other politicians using his tactic is ok. It is not ok. Political demagoguery gave us Jim Crow, McCarthyism and WW2 Germany. I am not crying wolf here. I am not simply bitter. I am warning everyone reading this, it is rewarding a very dangerous political tactic and will get worse if it is not stood up to.
If someone thinks 100 people throwing things is an outrage, they are ignoring the conditions that lead to it. Huge difference between an excuse, and an explanation. It is as simple as if you kick someone in the nuts long enough, they react. To reward Trump's behavior is to set a very dangerous tone that can and lead to very bad things.
