I've been withholding comment on this thread until this. I 100% agree. If a member of your staff is out of line, it is absolutely your responsibility as their boss in any job to correct them in some way. If it's a serious offense, fire them. If it's less serious (which is how I see this) then at least speak up about it so they don't seem to be speaking for you. Otherwise I don't see the problem with assuming you support them by allowing them to continue.
