I think you've got that the wrong way round... on a phone you generally use the mobile version which has no signatures... it's only on a computer or when using the full site on a mobile that signatures are visible... and in my case, only when using a computer that I'm using a mouse with a scroll wheel. So since I'm on my phone right now, even if I do switch over to the full version, I won't be able to see if your signature causes the scrolling problem because I have no mouse.

I would prefer if they were limited in size as well, such that they didn't have their own individual vertical scrollbars... because that's what messes up the scrolling with the mouse wheel; with signatures shorter than that, there's no problem.
It shouldn't mess up scrolling if your cursor is positioned off to the side, depending on what OS you are using I suppose.
The problem with imposing limits is it's extremely difficult to actually impose them. Number of lines we can do, but image sizes...not easy to determine because the image loads after the rest of the page, so we'd have to involve some JavaScript checks. Then what happens if someone posts 2 images just under the allowed height? We'd have to resort to manually checking and removing images from signatures. I'd rather have the staff put their efforts into post moderation, especially when you can disable signatures.
I don't know... I'm not on my computer right now... all I know is it was never really a problem until I started using Firefox (as opposed to Chrome)... but maybe it's just that everyone has big signatures now and that was just a coincidence
Yeah I understand, and it also dawned on me that it's probably all relative... whether there are scrollbars or not probably depends on the size of someone's screen, so a fixed size limit probably wouldn't make much difference, especially in edge cases (very small screens).
