We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver (This one is because I think today's society puts a lot of pressure on parents to be perfect, when the reality is that some kids are just fucking impossible.)
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (This one because some things are just too fucked to be looked at in black and white terms.)
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (This one has so many morals and is so insightful that I can't think of one reason for it not to land on a list like this.)
