Our society has progressed to the point to where we do not need religion. My reasons for this are logical to the point to where Mr.Spock would agree with me.
One:Technology progression
Were at a point in human society where language barriers no longer separate the main stream country's. With google translate and other services can allow for virtually fluent communications. At this point we have a merged society that will allow us to live and thrive on the internet. If you look at world of forums like this one and the billions of others, we don't know each others names, color, and often times religious or non-religious back grounds unless we say it to others. We seem to all get a long. If we can apply this style of living to face to face interactions we stand a batter chance of getting along and phasing out religions and putting them in the history books as should of been quite a while ago.
Two: The lack of religion is promoting understanding
If we take a look at through the microscope, non-religious life styles are becoming popular around the world. When your remove the barrier of group associated stereotypes we can begin the process of reducing this in our society. It will never be fully eliminated but, we can try our best to keep it at bay. When unity starts to develop so does the illogical perceptions of such actions. Religions only keep these old ideas alive. The Muslim hating the Jew and the Jew hating the Muslim is a prime example of this.
