The problem is though, "terror" has become synonymous with Islamic terror. Because of that I think some people honestly do forget there are other motivations for terror, and other people who might commit acts of it.

The vast majority of terror is not commited by Islamists. The vast majority is commited by seperatists and other groups with religious terror (not even singling out Islam) only making up about 4 to 5 percent of all terror attacks, according to Europol and FBI statistics alike. Might have risen slightly in the year 2015/16, but still, it doesn't make up the majority of terror.
