How many discussions did the Charlie Hebdo attack generate here vs the three much more deadly attacks I just listed that happened this past week?
And that's sorta my point as well about Western media -- while there may be perfunctory reports about such attacks in Islamabad or Ankara, here in America such attacks get not nearly the coverage that even a simple arrest in New Jersey gets before the attack even goes in, if the suspect is Muslim.
It's almost as if American media places a higher value on American lives because Americans are its audience. Who woulda thunk it?
I agree with this (sorta) I don't think it's just about America though. Had any of those attacks occurred in France, Japan, the UK and so on I think we would have seen wall to wall coverage even though it didn't occur in the USA.
I think that Islamic terrorism is occurring on such a regular basis in the Islamic world that it gets ignored. Sort of like the expression that when a child dies falling in a well its a tragedy but when thousands die everyday from starvation/car accidents/etc we stop noticing.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
