I conceded that I was wrong about the "this generation" thing but I retract that. Matthew 16:28 says,
“Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
It's ok. You lost, that's all. You bet on the wrong guy. No biggie. Always room for one more in the atheist community.
Or the prophecy was about the destruction of Jerusalem and more importantly the temple. Since the temple had been the way to communicate with God, it was no longer needed. The new paradigm was the spiritual kingdom of God that anyone had access to.
