It doesn't say if your wife rebels, it says if you fear rebellion from your wife. Wether she has rebelled or not.
Therefore if you follow what the verse says then it isn't necessarily an eye for an eye, it can be take someone's eye out if you fear they're about to take yours.
it says in black and white, if you fear rebellion.
Why would I fear somebody that didn't do anything to stir my fear?
fear and paranoia are so different.
I can't negate two verses with each other.
I must join this verse, with eye for an eye.
But why would I be afraid? so as a man, i have no voice?
I don't know what you mean by being afraid because you have no voice, I wasn't taking about your voice.
I'm saying that at least in the English translation this verse seems to have nothing to do with an eye for an eye.
It looks like it's about fearing rebellion from your wife, punishments to dish out when in fear of rebellion, and forgiveness when obedience towards the husband is given by the wife.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
