Our pop culture unfortunately has had a long history of painting the educated as "nerds" "dorks" "geeks".

Pink Floyd "We don't need no education".....

Saved By The Bell, had Zack the popular guy and Screech always getting rejected by Lisa.

I can tell you being insecure and sensitive growing up I got bullied myself for not fitting in.

Even way before I was born "Rebel Without A Cause" depicted a angst ridden teen bucking authority for what? Bullshit chasing a skirt, competing with morons by doing stupid dangerous bullshit.

America for some stupid fucking reason loves selling ignorance and popularity.

Even the show Big Bang Theory really is a overblown stereotype of the highly educated. Although it does a far better job than shows in the past to convey more acceptance of others.

But we have a big issue with people in power treating poor people with disdain, as they funnel money from the pockets of the poor and middle class into the pockets of the rich.

Republicans screw us over, Democrats refuse to fight back, and they bth work together to squash any third party.

No, it isn't that Dems refuse to fight back. Our lack of ability to push back didn't happen overnight. It is hard to fight back when you live under 36 years of GOP gerrymandering of our national and state district maps. It also didn't help that democratic voters gave up after Reagan successfully busted the airline unions. We suck at showing up in local and state elections on both even and odd years. Our politicians are hostages and the only way we free them to fight back and give them the power to fight back is to participate and speak out every day and vote in every election every year.

We don't need a third party, we need more participation.

Well people are participating now, and the establishment dems hate them for it. Progressives are getting out, but the DNC isn't listening.
