If god is bad for protecting Job from Satan but then temporarily removing the protection, isn't Satan worse for wanting to inflict Job in the first place? Seems like common sense.

Nope. It should have said "I have nothing to prove" to satan (and if actually a god, it didn't). Your god's a dick.
