I'm bitter because I can still vividly remember several times other christians, the ones i was supposed to trust the most, blatantly lied and twisted words to get my gullible child self to believe.
My moms church friend swooped in and convinced me to get baptised one day when she got me alone, like i was some sort of trophy to add to her score card. even my super religious mom got really pissed and chewed her out because she felt i was too young to make an informed decision, you know, like a decent fucking person. so that pissed me off in hindsight, when there was nothing i could say or do to get closure cause those people are like, dead to me.
Then there was the years i spent in private christian school, where everyone was a dick to me because i was smart and was talking about how lasers worked and they were like look he likes lasers what a nerd. yeah. what a fuckin nerd.
then there was the coach at that school who was also like.. the.. sunday school teacher? it was werid they had a little class dedicated to biblical studies. anyways back when dolly the sheep was cloned, this fuck wit told us kids that we would never clone a human. and we were like why? and he said, because even if we somehow made a machine that turns sand into a man (which is not what cloning is so fuck this uneducated dumbass) that god would stop us and say "get your own sand." ... fucking... baffling. And the room just kinda.. nodded in awkward silence.
Then there was that same asshole telling stores about how he convinced some girl to burn her music collection. what an ass. this girl says she listens to normal music, and since this is a conversion story and therefor from [Beyond The Bubble!] i assume she was pretty normal and her idea of normal music is.. normal.. fuckin.. music. judging from the era thats 90s pop bands or some shit. anyways this dude says he listens to them and they say such.. vile things. which i can only assume means hes a big huge pussy that gets offended at explicit lyrics. and he convinces her to gather all her cd's up.. and pour gasoline on them, and set them on fire.
So, 1, Fire is inherently cool, i'll give you that. that's why this manipulation tactic is good but, it's still morally wrong so fuck you dude. 2. that shit cost money and some people need music to find peace in their lives. this girl is talking to you so obviously shes already desperate, in some regard. either looking for the meaning of her life or got dealt a major blow and needs someone to fuckin, give a damn. your solution is burn what few possessions she has because you don't like the lyrics? what a douche. 3. evil music? for real? what you think this normal average teenage girl went to the black market to locate the accursed albumn of satan? No matter where the message comes from, you hear it, and you reflect and decide upon how you feel about it. Music is no more harmful than a conversation and what kind of weak ass pansy would be scared of music?
So like, that's all bullshit. i could do this all day, because it's been happening my whole life. Christians assume they are righteous and correct because that's what was drilled into every one of us and the more i learn about how people manipulate each other the more i find the red flags in my past and it makes me fuckin bitter that i was basically preyed upon by one of the most common organized religions. and also that so many people i know are just.. walking in my footsteps and i'm just ... watching them go through the same shit over and over. generation after generation and the struggle stays the same.
