You posed a good question.... but before I write so much, to respond to this I want to ask what you prefer:

1. Summarize the stance but not prove it (just simply answer the question).
2. Prove and go into details.

Why not both?  If the evidence is so "obvious," what need is there for some elaborate "proof"?

You are asking why not both summarize but not prove or prove and go into details, the reason is because they are opposites....and you have to pick one in exclusion of the other.

Let me know which one you want.
