I love to watch them make up all sorts of ad hoc excuses.
The best ones are when they say his references for being a Christian (and a creationist, by the way) are all just propaganda to appeal to the masses.
Which, actually leads to a bigger problem for Christians.
Over 85% of Germany was Christian at the time. Just how did the evil, lying Hitler, get the vast majority of the 70 million Christians then living in Germany to go along with his plans? He didn't seem to have any problems convincing all those Christians to believe they were doing "God's work".

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
