Why is it that in a modern society we allow collusion - a conspiracy after the fact as it were - also known as " confession"?

Just because some asshole goes to delusion school ( seminary) and gets ordained (a spooky, made-up ceremony) - this somehow relieves him of the legal obligation of reporting a crime?

If you murder someone, and tell somebody ( an average person)  about it - and they don't report it - they could and probably would do jail time over it.

The thing is - if you tell somebody about a crime you' ve done - it makes you feel better about yourself. WHY should we allow murderers and other miscreants to feel better about themselves? That' s what prison is for, asshole!

The legal standing of the confessional needs to go - priests are NOT special. They should have to report a felony just like anyone else.

In the U.S. priests are mandatory reporters in regards to child abuse. They can be prosecuted for not notifying police.
