Darth was for it and was on the Death Star when they blew up Alderan.
Darth was part if it, and was all in until the lase scene where he fought Luke. No polite way to put it.
And he didn't order the planet blown up.
Again, that does not mean shit to me. He was for blowing the planet up, he never objected to it, he was on the Death Star making threats to Princes Lea right before the order was given. Not to mention he murders his own see clips above.
I could care less who ultimately gave the order, Darth was the Empire's top henchman and muscle enforcer. He's like the underboss in a Maffia gang. Him not being the Emperor doesn't change that he workedunder the Emperor and did the murdering for the Empire. He was party to the genocide of Alderan regardless.

Ponderous fanfare, trapezoidal text crawl, Star destroyer, planet, phew phew phew, spaceship, may the force be with you, phew phew phew, light saber fight, ponderous fanfare.
Sometimes the last phew phew phew and the light saber fight swap places. This the movies are individually unique and to be savored separately.
The first three were brilliantly put together as far as special effects, acting, and especially the music. But that plot no, I look back at that plot, find it very disturbing now.
