From what I've read they're trying to incorporate elements of the Jar Jar Abrams timeline into it.

"Picard is devastated by the destruction of Romulus".

As much as I like Patrick Stewart, I'm not expecting anything good from this.

What got me about 5-0 was the fact someone could possibly think a special forces guy would make a great cop.

Picard is my favorite captain though, so I might check it out.
I'll have to find a way around paying for it though.

$5 dollars a month is outrageous. Can't do it.
