I forget who said "A plot often gets in the way of a good movie." Most plots are pretexts for action and scenery. This is especially true in musicals, IMNSHO.
Ah, another pertinent point. "A movie is graffitti writ large."
For those of you who go to movies looking for great art remember how many movies are made compared to the number that are memorable.
