Right so I have to respect this because it's deeply held by someone. Okay by that logic we should respect the deeply held beliefs of ISIS or Neo Nazi's after all there deeply held. Sorry I don't care how deeply bigotry is held it's not worthy of respect.
It is EXCEEDINGLY difficult to discern a person holding "deeply held religious belief" via observing their behaviors. The usual way we have of knowing someone is "so afflicted" is by their declaring it.
And curiously, Scripture itself gives us actual signs to watch for, and it is my "sincerely held belief" that those asserting sincerely held beliefs regarding Jesus, NT, OT, etc, will/should/shall/always manifest that sincerity of belief by an ability to speak in tongues, to heal all manner of infirmities by a simple laying on of the hands, the ability to imbibe any deadly thing without harm, and to handle deadly serpents and not die.
So, how many folks really do have "deeply held beliefs" ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
