Artificial intelligence was amply demonstrated in 1977 when Deep Blue beat chess grandmaster Gary Kasparov. As impressive as IBM's achievement was, Deep Blue was just a computer doing computer shit, lots of switches in an on/off state. Was the machine actually playing chess or was it selecting from an enormous pool of options? I don't know. If that's what artificial intelligence is, then fine, ok.
