Where sugar is concerned, where it is present/artificially added to pretty much everything, I wouldn't object to some sort of taxation on sugar content over a certain agreed minimum/safe amount... with the aim of getting the food producers competing to lower their sugar content. So I'd be in favour of a kind of relational tax, linked to sugar content percentage. Cos as it stands, it's hard to avoid high sugar content even in things that are not generally classed as junk food... such as ready meals etc. And maybe the same idea for fat or 'bad' fats whatever they are etc... just linking these things proportionally to cost to encourage their reduction where possible. Just an idea though.
ETA: I didn't mean this in any 'shaming' way... I just meant it as a idea for reducing the amount of a dangerous (in excessive quantities) substance in our diets. I eat a lot of junk/processed food as well, so I meant it for my benefit just as much as anyone else.
