If the UK tries to rescind Article 50 and stay in the EU, this will massively strengthen the EU because it will show that winning a referendum on leaving can end up with fucking up the economy and failing after two years of uncertainty before staying in. It will be a major deterrent to potential Euro-sceptic voters everywhere.
