RE: Why are the Abraham religions so interested in controlling people sexually

I think they were just interested in controlling people in general. Sexuality is a great way to do that.
I was actually thinking about this while watching Doctor Who last night (a more scholarly sentence has never been uttered). The Romans in the episode were talking openly about being a lesbian being "restricted," given that it was "normal" for them to be bisexual. I wondered when civilization stopped being that way, and I can only assume it was with the advent of the Abrahamic religions. I can't think of any other civilizations off the top of my head that both leaned that way and had enough influence to alter our sexuality trajectory, so to speak.
