Quote:Over the next several days, we will no doubt hear copious commentary on the supreme court’s opinion, with some legal scholars arguing that the Court has not really sided with Trump because people from the six Muslim-majority countries listed in the executive order will still be allowed entry to the United States if they can show that they have a “bona fide relationship with a person or entity in the United States.”
This means that if you are a student with a valid visa, or if you have family already in the country, or if you are “a lecturer invited to address an American audience,” you can still be granted admission to the U.S., at least until a final ruling is issued by the Court after it hears arguments in the fall.
My understanding is that today's decision with its restrictions concerning those who have business or family contacts here represents very little change from the current situation anyway ... pending the decision this autumn on the EO. Trumpeteers are hailing this as a "victory" -- but perhaps that only shows their civic naivete?
