Anyone going to watch the Jan 6th hearings?
July 27, 2021 at 9:20 am
Today begins the congressional hearings on January 6th. Slated today are several police officers. Of course the GOP heads are calling it partisan. Which is funny, because the GOP used to be for police. But I guess they are only for police when their politicians win.
I mean, who cares that 140 police officers were injured, and two died, and many suffering PTSD.

I've got some exciting grass to watch grow and so I'll be otherwise occupied.

I have something equally riveting on my agenda.

Yes, lets forget that 140 officers were assaulted, and lets forget that it was an attempted insurrection.

We don't have to watch gavel to gavel coverage. There will be news reports that summarize what happens.
Watching it or not isn't going to make a damn bit of difference, you twit.

I've heard the cops stories. I'll continue to peek in when others start to testify.

A lot of people accept and rightfully know that the officers that day were not being political. If that insurrectionist mob had gotten to members of congress, it wouldn't have just been Pelosi who would have been harmed, Pence would have been, Liz and Mitt too.
I still think this is important. It cuts to the core as to what kind of nation we want to be. Today's hearings are a direct result of one man, the former guy, and a party who were more interested in keeping power, than peaceful transfer of power.

It’s important that the hearings are happening, it’s less important that they be watched.
And what’s with this ‘former guy’ stuff?

What? The Holocaust happened long before either of us were born. But it should still be in history books and taught every day as a lesson as what not to do to your fellow human beings. January 6th was a glaring attempt by the former guy to consolidate power. More to the point, it was more about him trying to avoid legal trouble, and is why the asshole ran in the first place. He didn't care about winning, he cared about keeping himself out of legal trouble.
And he is the "former guy". He no longer holds that office. He is a fucking pile of shit, and a bully, and I will not address him as having the official title of that office.
