I see more thieves and scammers on TV tied to religion than any other group. Medical woo is probably second.
As for murder/warmongers I've often heard that religion is ranked at or near the top.
Define addict. I'd consider the religious as a type of addict.
Edit: Maybe religious affiliation in prison can shed some light: https://www.statista.com/statistics/2346...prisoners/
I have a way I can cure heart disease without expensive, time consuming surgery.
Just send me $1,000 dollars and once the funds clear, I'll think hard at that disease and cure you!
And, if you send your money in the next week, I'll think hard at your disease a second time, absolutely FREE!!
Well to be fair, if not for religion's campaign to discredit science, lots of this medical woo wouldn't even cross people's minds. The nature of having to defend an indefensible mythological position is the sole motivator for mistrust in science, things like the anti-vax movement are a symptom, not an independently evolved phenomenon.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
