Watching my cat, thinking about god and human nature

Furthermore, the burden of proof is always on the one making the extraordinary claim.

To state that god does not exist is not an extraordinary claim due to the fact that there is zero evidence to support the existence of stated deity.

Actually every description of god beyond the deist one can in some ways be shown to not exist AS DESCRIBED. Contradictory claims vs. what the evidence shows are a really nice way of going about that. He-Who-Should-Have-Been-Banned is yet again using the maximum amount of characters to say absolutely nothing.

What we have is evidence that no god is necessary for anything. It would be a wasteful, extraneous component to exist and I don't know that any theist would be willing to latch onto THAT for their god concept.

The fact that every moral system in every religion is based around what humans already believed in and is in no way divine and proves that more evolved humans can devise moral systems far superior to those of religion, and therefore are vastly morally superior to any primitive (is there any other kind?) concepts of gods.

Any god that withholds knowledge, love, etc., from its creation cannot by definition be loving or want a genuine relationship. This is entirely conditional and no sane human goes about forming relationships in this way. So based on the lack of effective communication and compassion, the gods being proposed by our resident theists must be indifferent, or assholes, or nonexistent, and any concept that includes the aforementioned positive attributes is utter rubbish and should not only be dismissed but openly mocked and the credibility of those who espouse it questioned.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.
