I guess she didn't know what the effects were to suddenly come off alcohol after long abusive use of it. Sudden withdrawal can cause your body to go into shock for which in many cases, is fatal.
I reckon a little alcohol education could save so many lives. Seeing as it is one of the biggest killers in the world.

Uncontrollable shaking, sweating, increased heart rate and not to mention the fear that comes with it. You'll experience all this. It can last from a few minutes to a couple or so hours. Some cases it's not too bad, it depends on the person and how much they've been drinking and for how long when they come off it all of a sudden. Either way, it's a nasty way to go.
Alcohol education!

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
