People would be encouraged not to stay at home, and go out and (at the very least) exercise, if not also socialize, attend school and/or jobs or create public works of art or join collaborative efforts of charity like roadside trash pickup and whatnot. It's just that if, while out and about and around others, we attempted to bring harm to them or property, we would be forcefully restrained until we decided against those actions or could be incarcerated on a more long-term basis if we were too out-of-control to be talked down from whatever sociopathic behavior we were going to act upon.Yeah, I know that wasn't part of your hypothetical. I was just doing a lousy job of making an incidental wry comment on how society is changing so that it's increasingly unnecessary to have direct contact with anyone. I didn't notice that Hammy thought this involved home incarceration. I wouldn't be down with that.
True, and although the overlords, whatever form they take, would encourage and help foster cooperation and community, that type of thing would NOT be forced upon those with social withdrawal issues. They would of course ask for friends and family of that person to do an intervention if possible, and/or assign therapy and/or medication to help if that's needed but they'd never force it on anyone if they were adamant not to do so unless they were genuinely endangering themselves (I would think only in cases of serious alcoholism or substance abuse, suicidal tendencies, deteriorating health and hygiene, hoarding, that kind of thing). But mainly the focus would be on how their actions affect others above how they affect their own well-being.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?
